St. Francis Xavier Catholic Academy on President Street will merge with and move into Queen of All Saints Catholic Academy, at the corner of Vanderbilt and Lafayette Avenues, Brooklyn. Religious Ed enrollment 2015
The 2016 Official Catholic Directory, recently published, gives religious education enrollments in most of the Catholic parishes in the borough of Brooklyn. Presumably most of the counts are from 2015 or earlier, and some of the figures are missing, so my totals are inexact.

In the ninety or so parishes of Kings County, there seem to be 15,146 children enrolled in CCD or religious education classes, many on Sunday mornings, others during the week. The median enrollment is about 157, or maybe 20 youngsters per grade. In Nassau County, the median enrollment is about 430. A few Brooklyn parishes did not give figures, but their bulletins refer to a program.

The highest reported enrollments seem to be Good Shepherd (430), St. Martin of Tours (442), St. Joseph Suydam St. (572), and Blessed Sacrament (582). Eighteen parishes report fewer than eighty students in CCD.

August, 2013, changes in schools
This post is stale news because I did not notice a diocesan summary dated August, 2013. In transforming elementary schools into quasi-independent Catholic academies, the diocese announced these changes:

Queen of the Rosary Catholic Academy
Sorry, this school closed permanently in 2020. In September, 2013, Queen of the Rosary Catholic Academy moved into new quarters at 11 Catherine Street, Williamsburg, Brooklyn NY 11211. The telephone number is 718-388-7992. The former St. Nicholas Commercial High School was renovated for the Academy as a state-of-the-art facility.

St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Academy
St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Academy, an elementary school, is located at 241 Prospect Park West, Brooklyn NY 11215, telephone 718-768-7629, close to Holy Name Church. The school's website is linked here. In September, 2012, this academy was formed by the merger of the parish elementary schools at Holy Name and Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Holy Name, Windsor Terrace

For almost a century, Sisters of St. Joseph staffed this parish school, and the Xaverian Brothers taught her for several decades. An excellent guide titled "Weekend Walks in Brooklyn" was authored by Robert J. Regalbuto, who graduated from this school in 1964. He says the school was built in 1923 and the Gothic Revival church dates to 1878.

The parish of St. Therese of Lisieux stands of the south side of Avenue D in East Flatbush, with the school on the left (east) of the photo and the church to the right (west). The school extends south on East 45th Street, and the church and rectory extend south on Troy Avenue.

Catholic academies, list of March, 2012
Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio has followed up the alignment decree effective May 17, 2011, with a second decree effective March 26, 2012. The decrees assign the parish staff (apparently only the ordained) to the spiritual care of the students in the newly-formed Catholic academies, formerly parish elementary schools. For further explanation, please read the new decree here.

Below, I use the new decree to provide a list of academies in Brooklyn. I begin with those that have only one parish aligned with the academy and therefore more resemble a parish school.
The decree is a list of some Catholic Academies (that is, parish or regional elementary schools renamed as Catholic Academies with a two-level board in charge). With each academy on the list are the parishes whose priests are responsible for the pastoral care of the students in the academies. It seems to be largely aimed at the provision of Mass and the sacrament of Reconciliation. Please read the document.

I suspect that this problem is not new and that the most appropriate answers are local, with consultation of the parents and staff.

These items are gleaned from a diocesan press release issued 1.30.2012. The surprise on the list is that St. Gregory the Great School is listed as Flatbush, at Holy Cross, 2520 Church Avenue. Current N-8 enrollments (that is, enrollments inflated by nursery-level students) are also given.

St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Academy
On 11.30.2011, Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio decreed the establishment of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Academy next September in the building currently used by Holy Name of Jesus School at 241Prospect Park West, Brooklyn NY 11215. Merged into this new academy will be Immaculate Heart of Mary School, Kensington, and Holy Name.

The decree is a list of some Catholic Academies (that is, parish or regional elementary schools renamed as Catholic Academies with a two-level board in charge). Below each academy on the list are the parishes whose priests are responsible for the pastoral care of the students in the academies. It seems to be largely aimed at the provision of Mass and the sacrament of Reconciliation. Please read the document.

St. Jude, Canarsie
The mailing address of St. Jude parish is 1677 Canarsie Road, Brooklyn NY 11236, telephone 718-763-6300. The parish website is linked HERE. Admirably, the parish bulletin includes the schedule of twelve weekend Masses in three parishes.---
The above view is from where Seaview Avenue, East 94th St., and Canarsie Road meet. This is only a few blocks northwest of Exit 13 of the Belt Parkway and Canarsie Pier.

The entrance to the church is here on Canarsie Road. To the left is the church. Immediately inside the door and to the right is an alcove with candles and votive notes near a statue of St. Jude. Directly across the foyer is a chapel for the adoration of the exposed Eucharist.
Our Lady of Trust Catholic Academy is located at 1696 Canarsie Road, telephone 718-241-6633.
St. Jude parish was established in 1961. The cornerstone of the school is dated 1966.
On the south side of the church are the fourteen Stations of the Cross, a Pieta, and a crucifix. The numerous memorials on the stations and in the walkway reminded me that the Church is the assembly of believers rather than the hierarchy alone or the buildings.

Hendrickson Street is parallel to Flatbush Avenue, a short block west of Flatbush Avenue. The parish website states that the parish offices will move out of the rectory to a building on Flatbush Avenue, but that the mailing address will remain.

A few years ago, Midwood Catholic Academy moved into the former St. Thomas Aquinas school at 1501 Hendrickson St., Brooklyn NY 11234.

St Michael, Jerome St., East New York

Up the sanctuary steps and through the left door is la capilla used for morning services. On Monday, August 17, 2008, I found 8:15 a.m. benediction (closing adoration?) and 8:30 Mass. In between a litany was offered that called upon Mary with the various patronage titles that honor her in the countries of Latin America. The parish bulletin listed also a morning mass at St. Malachy's rectory. Capuchin Franciscans (long ago, German in heritage) staffed St. Michael's, and on Warwick Street a large building has the sign "Capuchin Friary." The Capuchin Province of St. Mary has headquarters in White Plains, New York.
The parishes of Saint Michael and Saint Malachy have been combined. This is a view of St. Michael's church, looking south on Jerome Street towards Liberty Avenue.

Apparently, some school buses serve St. Michael's. On Atlantic Avenue, just north of the church, is bus route Q24, from Jamaica to Bushwick.

As for the church of St. Malachy, a final Mass was offered there in there in January, 2009. From the second link below, it would seem that the church was soon demolished.

St. Nicholas, Olive Street, Williamsburg
Effective January 31, 2011, the historic parish of St. Nicholas was merged with two other parishes to form the parish of Divine Mercy. Olive Street, Williamsburg, is about two miles inland from the East River, away from the center of Williamsburg. Here is St. Nicholas parish, founded about 1865 for Germans too distant from Montrose Avenue and Most Holy Trinity parish. 
The Dominican Sisters of Amityville staffed this school for many years.---

St. Mary, Mother of Jesus, Bensonhurst
Above is the church of St. Mary Mother of Jesus on 85th Street, Bensonhurst, Brooklyn. The second parish church burned in 1967, and this church was built in 1971, after the sudden death of its architect, John J. O'Malley. The rectory mailing address is 2326 84th Street, Brooklyn NY
11214, telephone 718-372-4000. In 2015, I cannot find the parish website, with Mass schedule,
informative history, photos, and much other information. The parish dates back to 1889. Please also see the parish Facebook page, which appears to be more current.-----
Above, looking south on 23rd Avenue at 84th Street, we see St. Peter Catholic Academy. The school address is 8401 23rd Avenue, Brooklyn NY 11214, telephone 718-372-0025. The school has two buildings, seen here extending a full city block.
This is the third name the school has been called. From about 2006 to 2013, the name was The Catholic Academy of St. Mary, Mother of Jesus - St. Francis Cabrini, serving the parishes of St. Dominic, St. Finbar, St. Frances Cabrini, Most Precious Blood, and St. Mary, Mother of Jesus. In 2008, St. Finbar's parish, a mile to the west, closed its school, and in 2009, the diocese ordered Most Precious Blood school, a mile to the southeast, to close.

Our Lady of Angels, Bay Ridge
Our Lady of Angels parish is located at 7320 Fourth Ave., Brooklyn NY 11209, telephone 718-836-7200. The parish website is linked here.----
The above photo shows the church on Fourth Avenue, between 73rd and 74th Streets. The parish was established in 1891, and its buildings occupy the west side of Fourth Avenue between 73rd and 74th Streets, reaching along 74th Street almost to Third Avenue.

In April, 1916, subway service under the west two lanes of this street began, making OLA another one of those New York churches that has the pleasant rumble of "toy trains in the basement."
This view on 74th Street looks towards Fourth Avenue. The parish school was reorganized in 2009 as Holy Angels Catholic Academy. Its address is 337 74th Street, Brooklyn NY 11209, telephone 718-238-5045.
This plaque is on the older building (below) now in partial service by a day-care center and a health clinic. Note the ornamentations along the top floor.
Above the main door of the church, the Latin inscription reads "Dedicated to Mary of the Angels." Click the photo for details. Thankfully, this church is not locked, and numerous worshipers visit.
